Why I love CrossFit: CrossFit can be really wonderful for a lot of reasons but I, ultimately, land on two:
• The variety: By using movements collected from different sports/domains, CrossFit really challenges folks to work on all areas of their fitness. In turn, this translates to more physical preparedness in tasks outside the gym rather than tropically getting bigger for getting bigger’s sake. Plus, it keeps things interesting and always gives you something to work on. (Muscle ups someday)
• The community: Folks come to the gym to improve and it’s really inspiring (if not infectious) to be surrounded by such strong, goal-oriented people. Since everything we do is modifiable, everyone has the opportunity to progress along their own journey and there are few things more rewarding than sharing in the progress of friends. It’s also nice to know you aren’t hurting alone. :’)
Favorite Movement: My favorite lift is deadlift. My favorite calisthenic is burpees. My favorite cardio is running (but also the assault bike but also I might be sick in the head).
Fun Fact: I like wearing donut themed merchandise more than I like eating donuts. Basically I’m a fraud.
