Why I love CrossFit:

So I have two main answers to this question: 

One: It’s awesome that all you have to do is show up and someone else has come up with the programming that needs to be done. They keep it varied and interesting, which helps prevent falling into a routine where you are just doing the same thing over and over. This keeps things interesting and also forces your body to be constantly adapting to new stimuli, which is highly effective for building and maintaining fitness.

Two: I think the group setting is great because not only do you get to make friends with cool, new people, but they also can hold you accountable and I think it’s just more motivating to be in a group setting. I also have a bit of a competitive personality and find it highly motivational to be surrounded by others who are sharing the pain ! 

Favorite Movement:

I think my favorite overall type movements are gymnastics on the bar and the rings. Getting muscle ups was a really fun journey and I also just really like the idea of body weight exercises. Hopefully a strict muscle up is in my future someday!

Close runner-up goes to clean and jerks. It is such a complex movement that is fun to work on and feels like something you can continue making progress on almost forever in pursuit of doing it perfectly.
